Light Wind Park: Sustainable Sculpture
Presentation by artist/architect Thomas Whittlesey and Design Team
Thursday, May 22, 2008, 7 p.m.
Kennedy 406
The public is invited to provide feedback on Light Wind Park, the final proposal of this new, highly visible public sculpture along Huntington Avenue which has been developed by Thomas Whittlesey in tandem with the students of the sustainable sculpture seminar taught by Professor Patricia Seitz in the MassArt architecture department. Light Wind Park will consist of wind-powered light tubes that appear as elegantly arrayed stalks of reeds and are thus reminiscent of the marshland on which MassArt’s Fenway campus is situated. Project planning is funded by the Fund for the Arts, a restricted fund of the New England Foundation for the Arts. The UrbanArts Institute at MassArt is facilitating the planning process.
Refreshments will be served. For additional information please visit www.urbanartsinstitute.org - News and Events.
