[incoming student medical requests]
If you have a disability or condition that requires special living arrangements, you must submit a Medical Request to the Office of Housing and Residence Life by the date indicated on your Residence Application, May 1, 2008. Any student with medical concerns who is requesting a single or handicapped accessible suite must present the following information to the Office of Housing and Residence Life:
- A letter stating the specific medical condition, the specific housing need that it requires, and why a single or handicapped accessible suite is requested.
- Medical documentation from a physician supporting the request.
- ADA form which can be obtained through the Admissions Office by calling (617) 879 – 7233.
Since each request is evaluated on a case-by-case basis, it is extremely important for all documentation to be complete and detailed regarding request and disability. The medical request committee will meet to determine request based on what information is provided. Generalizations will not help the committee to understand the need for housing. The committee will NOT seek out additional information. Housing accommodations are made one year at a time.
*The Office of Housing and Residence Life will only consider requests with all required documentation, including the completed Residence Application and deposit. Requests that are incomplete or are submitted after the May 1st deadline will not be considered.
Please download the following materials to help guide you through the process:

[meal plan waiver policy]
All students must participate in a meal plan unless a wavier is granted by the Director of Housing and Residence Life. Only students who submit a letter from a physician that details medical reasons for not participating in the meal plan will be considered for exemption. Each letter will be assessed by the Director of Housing and Residence Life, in consultation with the Director of Health Services and the manager of Dining Services. Please note, Dining Services can prepare foods to meet vegetarian and most allergy needs. This petition must be submitted with the Residence Application on/before May 1, 2008 and must be approved prior to the start of classes. No waiver will be approved after the May 1st deadline. For specific service questions please contact Dining Services at (617) 879-7965.
