Checklist

Friday, May 23, 2008, 1:00pm, Evans Park

Here are some requirements and guidelines to prepare for the Commencement ceremony:

Intent to Graduate Form
DUE: February 1
Make sure you have fulfilled all obligations for your degree and have submitted an Intent to Graduate form with the Academic Advising Office (8th floor, Tower) by February 1. (617-879-7281)
Arrive Promptly Graduates will assemble at 12:15pm in the rear of Evans Park and the academic procession will begin at 1:00pm. In case of rain, the assembly will group in the Tower Building (2nd floor). We encourage you to consider the needs of any elderly or physically disabled guests and allow enough time for seating.
Rain Plan New England weather is fickle in May. Depending on the weather, we could see sunburns or hear chattering teeth. It is recommended that you bring appropriate apparel as deemed by weather forecasts. In case of rain, the ceremony will be held in the MassArt gymnasium, where space is restricted. All graduates will be given two tickets for family members, including children three years of age or older, to view the live ceremony in the gymnasium. Additional family members will be accommodated in the Pozen Theatre, where a live video/audio feed will be set-up.
Tickets Make sure you read the previous item on this list. Exceptions cannot be made. Inform your family that there is a chance that they all may not get in to see the ceremony if it rains so they can plan accordingly. Tickets for an indoor ceremony will be issued in the Commencement Office (2nd floor, Kennedy) from May 1-22 from 10:00am – 4:00pm.
Parking

Free parking is available for Commencement guests in the MassArt and Wentworth Parking lots. Both lots are side-by-side, with access for MassArt’s lot on Ward Street and access for Wentoworth’s lot on Ruggles Street. Paid parking around campus is available in the Longwood Medical Area Garage, the Landmark Center Parking Garage, the Prudential Center Garage and at some metered spaces near the campus. HP vehicle parking spaces will be available. Students must indicate any need for these limited HP spaces by calling the Commencement Office at 617.879.7751.

Restrooms and First Aid Restrooms are located in the entrance of the Gymnasium (adjacent to the park). First Aid assistance is available in the Public Safety Office next to the Gymnasium.
