The Bursar's office has primary responsibility for billing students and managing
student accounts. Student semester bills are based on the student's residency
status, the number of credits for which the student has pre-registered, college
fees, and applicable residence hall charges. Fall semester bills are mailed
in July and spring semester in November. The student bill lists payment due
date, generally three weeks after the bills are issued; refer to the academic
calendar for exact dates. Settling bills by the due date ensures enrollment
in pre-registered classes and a smooth start to the semester. Students can settle
their account by:
Paying the amount due in full online at http://www.paybill.com/massart
or in person at the Business Office with a check or credit card (Master Card
or Visa).
Enrolling in a payment plan. Tuition Management Systems offer an interest-free
monthly payment option allowing academic expenses to be paid in affordable
monthly amounts instead of large semiannual ones. For more information, contact
MassArt's Bursar's office at 617- 879-7900, call Tuition Management Systems
directly at 800-722-4867, or visit their web site www.afford.com.
Financial Aid. Awarded financial aid for students who have completed the
financial aid process is reflected on the student bill. If a student plans
to use financial aid to settle the account and it does not appear on the bill,
contact MassArt's Financial Aid Office at 617-879-7850.
Outside Scholarships. Some students receive scholarships or grants from
organizations outside of MassArt (examples: Rotary Club, Boston Globe, City
scholarships, etc.). If the scholarship award letter states that the outside
scholarship will be paid directly to MassArt, the student need not pay that
portion of the bill that the scholarship will cover. A copy of the scholarship
award letter must be submitted with the bill as well as payment for any remaining
balance due.
Failure to meet these requirements will result in administrative withdrawal
from the college. Students will not be allowed reinstatement until the bill
is satisfied in full and upon payment of a $100.00 late registration fee.
