Holiday and Spring Sales

An annual tradition since 1983, the Holiday Sale at MassArt is sponsored by Student Activities and Programs. Students and alumni have the opportunity to sell their work to the public and to smart shoppers can pick up some unique holiday gifts. Past sales have featured jewelry, paintings, sculpture, photography, paints, textiles and much, much more! Held in the Lobby of the Tower Building, it's a festive occasion and is eagerly awaited by both our students, faculty, staff and the public.

From spirit shakers to chess sets, hand-made soap to fire-hydrant shaped candles, all these and more could be found at the MassArt Holiday Sale 2007, running from Dec. 3-8.
Students receive 70% of the proceeds and Alumni receive 65%. 10% goes to support student scholarships and the remaining for defraying costs. Hey, don’t you think students should get a discount on sale items? I do! Stay tuned for more info on the sale. 

Participating students receive 70% of their total sales and alumni receive 65%. A percentage is used to pay for the art sale costs such as equipment rental, advertising, credit card bank fees, security, displays and wrapping materials. A remaining 10% is used for student scholarships.  Hundreds of students have benefited from this scholarship and grant money.
Last year, over 300 artists participated in the Holiday and Spring Sales and sold over $100,000 in work.
