Summer Study Off-Campus

Students may take off-campus summer courses for credit. To ensure that these courses will fit into curricular requirements, students are encouraged to discuss summer academic plans with Tony Laing, Diversity and Exchange Programs Advisor (tony.laing@massart.edu ; 617-879-7284) and the appropriate department chairperson.

International Reciprocal Exchange Programs

Undergraduate students may apply to study within the following international reciprocal exchange programs for a semester during their junior year. Students pay MassArt for the regular full-time tuition and fees applicable to their state of residency during the semester they will travel (e.g. in-state, NEHBE, out-of-state). Faculty-led Travel Courses

3-credit elective courses open to undergraduate students in all majors. Course meetings are held throughout the spring semester, travel takes place over spring break or early summer. Five half-scholarships awarded per program (to be applied to course fee. Registration open to Colleges of the Fenway students, graduate, and continuing education students on a space available basis. Graduate and Continuing Education Programs

  • Beijing, China: Residency for Painters and Photographers. May 31-June 21, 2007
    Three-week program open to intermediate to advanced artists (junior year undergraduate to post graduate level). Includes two 3-credit studio intensives taught by John Walker (painting) and Stephen Tourlentes (photo) at Central Academy of Fine Arts, Beijing.   • Medieval France though Art History and Drawing.June 12-20, 2007
    Faculty leaders: Dr. Ellen Shortell and Martin Mugar. Approximately half of the class time will be devoted to the study of the medieval history of the Burgundy region through architecture and art, while the other half will involve drawing the urban and rural landscape. The 13th century fortified castle of Ratilly in the Burgundian countryside, will serve as lodging and classroom base.
