Xtreme! Week

Xtreme! Week is an intensive week of art making for students in grades 7-12 during February and April vacations. Choose your focus - Extreme Drawing or Extreme Fashion. Studios are taught by practicing artists. Xtreme! Week ends with a celebratory exhibition and fashion show of students’ creations.

Classes

Xtreme! Drawing
This course focuses on drawing - the heart of a serious portfolio. Students develop drawing skills using a wide variety of media by learning how to draw from observation, memory and imagination. Class time is also spent looking at how other artists found ways to express their creative ideas.
Xtreme! Fashion
This intensive introduction to fashion design gives students an understanding of how a piece of clothing is created from concept to drawing to construction. Students bring ideas from the drawing board to completion. A final fashion show gives the MassArt community a chance to see the results.

Through the generosity of the Cloud Foundation, one of the Xtreme! Fashion classes will take place in the spacious studios at the Cloud Place in Copley Square on Boylston Street.

Generous support from the Civil Society Institute and the Linde Family Foundation contribute to the high quality programming and available financial aid for students in grades 7-12 who are in need of assistance. We recognize our patrons and thank them for their support.
