Teacher Preparation Program
The Teacher Preparation Program is a postbaccalaureate 24-credit program leading towards Initial Licensure as an art teacher in Massachusetts and 32 other states.The program is designed for students with a very strong background in studio work that want to work in schools, museums, social service agencies, or other venues for art education. 300 hours of student teaching is required.
In order to student teach, students must pass the Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure (MTEL) required by the Commonwealth’s Department of Education and are separate from the Art Education program of the college. The college also offers a Master of Science in Art Education degree.
