Certificate Programs

The Graduate & Continuing Education Department is home to MassArt’s Certificate and Professional training programs, such as Teacher Preparation. Many students pursue admission to certificate programs by first enrolling in Continuing Education courses. These provide an opportunity to build and strengthen a portfolio for later review and admission to both certificate and degree programs.

Graphic Design

Graphic Design Certificate Program (GDC) provides working adults with evening classes, learning experiences, and the skills and competency to advance into a career in graphic design. The program consists of 12 courses totalling 37 credits, and usually takes 3 years to complete.

Fashion Design

The Fashion Design Certificate Program is designed for those who wish to advance their skills or careers in Fashion Design. The certificate consists of ten courses including fundamentals and Master classes.

Industrial Design

The Industrial Design Certificate Program is a streamlined program for students who hold a prior degree in another discipline and now wish to enter the industrial design profession.The program consists of seventeen 3-credit courses (51 credits).

Teacher Preparation Program

The Teacher Preparation Program is a postbaccalaureate 24-credit program leading towards Initial Licensure as an art teacher in Massachusetts and 32 other states.
