High Fire Low Fire with Bob Green

This course gives students the time and opportunity to improve throwing and hand-building skills while exploring several exciting and diverse firing techniques. Offered for two weeks, the class offers ample time for more in-depth class instruction, studio time, discussion, and critique as well as lots of firings. Firings will include stoneware soda/salt reduction, which produce flashes of warm colors on raw clay as well as rich glaze color. There will be several raku firings which will address both crackle and matte glazes. The class also will burnish bone-dry pots with terra sigillata slip for a bonfire pit firing.
