This summer Art New England is offering one 3 credit workshop, High Fire Low Fire with Bob Green which runs over two weeks, during weeks 1 and 2. Cost is $450 for undergraduate credit and $585 for graduate credit in addition to workshop fees. Please note that since this workshop runs over two weeks, students will get the $150 discount for the second week of the workshop.
Courses are graded on a Pass/No Credit system. Please be advised that letter grades are not awarded by MassArt.
Students seeking credit for career enhancement or reimbursement are urged to contact their home institutions to arrange prior approval. Course credit is not automatically transferable to Massachusetts College of Art and Design or other degree programs; policies on transfer credit vary by institution and by program, so it is important to seek the approval of your advisor before you register. Registration for credit must occur before the class begins.
Accomodations
Living on Campus
Most Art New England participants stay on campus and choose single living accommodations. Dorms are in colonial style houses and students share communal bathrooms. Double rooms also are available; if you come alone and choose a double we will place you with another participant who requests a double. Linens, blankets, pillows, and towels are provided.
A fully equipped gym and hiking trails are available for daily exercise. In addition, Art New England shares the campus other complementary art programs—Chamber Music of the Northeast and a theatre program—both of which contribute to the sense of creative energy on campus. Participants will be able to take advantage of concerts and performances.
Living Off-Campus
Some participants choose to stay off campus. Off-campus students are provided with Sunday night dinner and lunch every day (included in the price of tuition) and may purchase breakfast and/or dinner from the cafeteria.
Extended Stay
The extended stay option is for participants who want to take advantage of the Art New England environment for a week before or after their workshop without being enrolled. Students receive accommodations (room and meals) plus studio space, allowing them to continue work they’ve begun the previous week or begin working a week before their workshop starts. It is also a great time to explore the many extraordinary museums located near Bennington, such as the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (Mass MOCA) in North Adams, MA and the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute in Williamstown, MA. The extended stay is on a space available basis and your space will be confirmed in June.
- Extended Stay: $625/week
