    English language test requirements

MassArt does not offer an intensive English language program. Students are expected to be proficient in English before applying for admission. In addition to all other admission requirements for undergraduate or graduate applicants, international students whose native language is not English are required to submit official scores from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or from the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). The application is not complete without the official score report. MassArt's school code for the TOEFL is 3516.

Applicants to the undergraduate program who show academic and artistic talent, but do not meet MassArt's minimum TOEFL or IELTS requirement, may be referred to EC Boston for intensive English instruction. MassArt may waive the TOEFL or IELTS requirement for students who complete the highest level of English instruction and receive the recommendation of the EC School's Director.
