    Course Descriptions

    Illustration and Animation (Grades 7-9)
This studio introduces basic principles of illustration and animation through an exploration of different techniques. Students experiment with visual storytelling using graphite, paint, and pen and ink, as well as animation techniques such as handmade flip books and stop motion.

    Fashion Intensive (Grades 7-12)
This intensive introduction to fashion design gives students an understanding of how a piece of clothing is created from concept to drawing to construction. Students bring ideas from the drawing board to completion. A final fashion show gives the MassArt community a chance to see the results.

Drawing and Portfolio Development (Grades 10-12)
This course focuses on drawing — the heart of a serious portfolio. Students develop drawing skills using a wide variety of media by learning how to draw from observation, memory, and imagination. Class time is also spent looking at how other artists found ways to express their creative ideas. For sophomores, juniors, and seniors this class will be an opportunity to develop work for your portfolio.
