All studios run from 8:30 a.m. to noon.
FANTASY, MYTH AND MAGIC (GRADES 4-6)
Create artwork that explores the history and power of people and places, both real and imagined. Using both painting and sculpting materials students will create creatures and heroes.
FASHION DESIGN (GRADES 7-9)
Learn how a piece is created from concept to drawing to construction. Students will translate creative designs into finished garments.
STUDIO EXPLORATIONS (GRADES 7-9)
Draw, paint and sculpt from the clothed figure, the still life, and from imagination. Visits to neighboring museums and galleries emphasize the connections between students' artwork and exhibited art. Studio work includes 2D and 3D fundamentals. Composition and design elements are discussed and developed.
STOP MOTION ANIMATION (GRADES 7-9)
This studio introduces basic principles of stop motion animation through an exploration of different media and storytelling techniques. Students will gain a breadth of knowledge on various contemporary animators and artists. Class time will be spent working in groups and on individual projects.
CERAMICS (GRADES 7-9)
Students learn about the properties of clay and how to work with the material at different stages. Students work both on the wheel and with hand building techniques.
