Appraisal Studies

A new collaboration with the American Society of Appraisers

Appraisal studies

MassArt is pleased to announce a new affiliation with the American Society of Appraisers. MassArt will offer the ASA series of valuation classes towards ASA accreditation in personal property appraisal. Courses are open to students pursuing appraisal studies in all areas of valuation. Supplementary programming being developed by MassArt will be geared toward the appraisal and valuation of art and antiques.

Four sequential foundation courses take students through the various approaches to valuation theory, economic concepts that apply to valuation, basic "appraisal process," ethical concerns of the appraiser and professional standards. Students interested in accreditation by the American Society of Appraisers must take these four classes in sequence, and must then take and pass the Uniform Standards or Professional Appraisal Practice.

The program will be supplemented with courses relating to the valuation of art and antiques.
