Undergraduate StudentsShow us what you're made of.
Thank you for your interest in Massachusetts College of Art and Design! The next few years will prove to be some of the most challenging and rewarding of your life. It's exciting to think about, isn't it? Large studio spaces, a community of artists like you, demanding classes in an array of media, internships, study abroad opportunities...
But, we're getting ahead of ourselves. Back to your current reality: applying to college. The admissions team here at MassArt wants to help you find the right fit. We welcome applications from students who are passionate about the visual and media arts and have a high school diploma or equivalent. Admission decisions are based on your application as a whole. We'll be looking at your essay, resume, portfolio, test scores, and transcripts. Yes, we will be looking at your academics. Art doesn't come from an empty head, so show us what you're made of!
At MassArt we create a supportive environment in which students and faculty from diverse backgrounds can learn from one another. The admissions committee values differences in age, life experience, education, extracurricular involvement, and racial, ethnic, and/or cultural background. Each year we look to build an incoming student class of 500 to 550 new students. Once again, it's about fit, so while the number of applications we receive far exceeds the spaces that we have available, we strive to view everyone for what they can bring to this community.
So, take a chance. Give it your all. Show us what you can bring to MassArt. We are currently accepting applications for the fall 2013 class, and we look forward to receiving yours.
