Applying for Aid

You should apply for financial aid at the same time you apply for admission. Don't wait until you have been admitted to a program to apply. The only financial aid application that we require is the FAFSA - the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. It can be filed anytime after January 1 for the following academic year. Be sure to include MassArt's Federal School Code of 002180.

MassArt's priority deadline for filing the FAFSA is March 1.

After you have completed the FAFSA, you will want to review your Student Aid Report (SAR) to ensure that the information you submitted was accurate and complete. If you receive a request directly from MassArt to provide additional information, please be sure to respond promptly as your financial aid application remains incomplete until you provide the required documentation.

The Office of Student Financial Assistance and the federal government will use the information you and your family provided to determine your eligibility for financial assistance.

Note to New Applicants: Please be sure to include your Social Security Number on your application for admission. It is imperative that MassArt has this number in our database so that we may process your financial aid application in a timely manner.
