Fashion Design Certificate
Students who are interested in the Fashion Design Certificate may first enroll in one of the core courses. After successfully completing a single course, you may apply to the Fashion Design Certificate program. Applications to the Fashion Design Certificate Program are accepted twice a year. Fall semester applications are due April 1, spring semester applications are due November 1. Design faculty review applications after the deadline and notification of decisions are sent by mail.
Applicants are asked to submit the following items:
Copies of your final official high school transcript or official GED test results should be sent to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. If you have attended any other college(s) or taken courses through MassArt's continuing education program, request an official copy of those transcripts to be sent to the undergraduate admissions office. Submit a list of courses in which you are currently enrolled, if any.
Statement of purpose
In an essay of no less than five hundred words, decribe your interest in fashion and what you intend to accomplish during your course of study. As an artist and designer you are expected to be able to communicate effectively in writing as well as visually.
Please provide a resume outlining your accomplishments, experience, and education to date.
Present a collage of grouped two-dimensional images that illustrate your interest in and perspective on the fashion industry. Collage size should be no smaller than 8 1/2" x 11" and no larger than 14" x 17". Send a color copy or print of your work; do not send originals.
A fee of $35 should accompany your application.
