Angela Strassheim

Angela Strassheim was born in 1969 in Bloomfield, Iowa. She received a BFA from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in 1995 and an MFA in Photography from Yale University in 2003. In 1997 she completed a Forensic & Biomedical Photography Certification at the Metro-Dade County, Forensic Imaging Bureau in Miami, a course of study which has influenced some of her artistic work. Featured in the 2006 Whitney Biennial and the Musee d' Elysee's 50-reGeneration exhibition in Lausanne, Switzerland, Angela Strassheim's work has been shown and collected nationally and internationally in solo and group exhibitions. She is also the recipient of a Women in Photography LTI/Lightside Grant, a Bush Fellowship, a McKnight Fellowship, a Jerome Fellowship, and an Artist Initiative Grant. She is currently represented by Andrea Meislin Gallery in New York City. Strassheim lives and works in New York, Connecticut and Israel.
